Finnish Resul Remote March 2022 - Team Springboks Pro Patria - WVV Walk for Peace - UNIMOTE Event

Each year World Veterans' Voice hosts and supports the Walk for Peace on International Peace Day - 21st September 2022. We walk in honour of our fallen (in all wars, operations, struggles and conflict), for those that returned home, for their families and all victims of conflict and war. We also convey our appreciation to those that are still serving today across the globe. We unite to be heard – to call for positive solutions to be actively sought, discussed and implemented to achieve a peaceful future for all.

This year, as the global pandemic is disrupting physical events and gatherings, we decided to promote, coordinate and participate in a collection of remote events across the globe instead of one physical event. We call these WVV UNIMOTE Events -Unifying Remote Events that create awareness around aligned, like-minded topics or issues to inspire positive solution-driven discussions, exploration and policy-making actions.

As one of our first WVV UNIMOTE Events - we have chosen to collaborate with SAMVO (South African Military Veteran Organisation) to support and participate in the Finnish RESUL Remote March 2022 (26th May - 29th May). 

Many of us have struggled to maintain our normal levels of movement or mobility due to the Corona Virus Pandemic. The aim of the RESUL Four Day Remote March is to motivate ordinary people to move in the middle of their day jobs or holiday free time. It is a 4 day fitness challenge. You can march, walk or run anywhere in the world remotely for 1 – 4 days either alone, with family, friends or your organisation. 

The participation is free. Just participate in the challenge, share it on your social media profiles, the WVVoice social pages and the RESUL March pages. Then upload your results to the RESUL March pages. 

Note, this is not a competition. It is a collective event to promote health and wellbeing, while creating awareness through sharing your story in your local area and on digital platforms.

The WVVoice will be highlighting the topic of injury and disability obtained while serving or on duty. We are also highlighting neck and back injuries of high performance or professional athletes, like national sports persons.

We have created an International South African Team called the Springboks Pro Patria Team on the Finnish RESUL March website. We invite all South Africans across the globe to join that team and share their event! 

This team will be marching in honour of our fallen in all wars, operations and struggles, those that returned home as well as their families who still suffer today. It also includes our appreciation to those that are still serving today in both the SANDF and SAPS. 

We need to be united in ensuring peace - together let us inform our politicias and those in power, we do not stand for wars and conflicts. Let us march together, wherever we are in the world, united for peace.

So how do you get involved?

1. Register on the RESUL March Registration Page and join the Springboks Pro Patria Team to represent South Africa – (You do not need to do this – however, we encourage uniting with your country's team or organisation to create more awareness. You can also order a medal, badge or certificate as a souvenir from their site)
2. Share the event with your family, friends and colleagues to encourage more participation in the event.

4. Fill in your details on the WVV Resul March 2022 – UNIMOTE Event Page – include your team's name (Springboks Pro Patria) that you will entered on the RESUL Remote March Registration Page.
5. Create awareness as a collective by sharing your pre-event preparations, event progress and goals on your social media profiles as well as the WVVoice Social pages (Facebook: @wvvoice and Instagram: @wvvoiceglobal) and the RESUL March pages (Facebook: @RESUL4DM and Instagram: @resulfourdaymarch). 6. Create a fundraiser or crowd backing project linked to the goal you want to achieve during the 4 day event. Share to your social pages and community to support you.
